How Far in Advance Should You Book a Photo Booth in DFW?
By Boothly Events · · 2 min read
Quick answer
For a wedding on a popular Saturday, book your photo booth 6 to 12 months ahead. For graduations, holiday parties, and birthdays, 1 to 3 months is usually enough. Last minute can still work in DFW if the date is open. Ask, because a quick check costs nothing.
How early should I book for a wedding?
Many wedding vendors suggest booking a photo booth 6 to 12 months ahead (Easy Weddings). That matters most on the dates everyone wants. Fall is the most popular wedding season, and The Knot lists September 19, September 26, and October 10 among the busiest 2026 dates, along with June 6 and June 20 (The Knot). If your wedding lands on one of those, book the booth soon after you book the venue.
How early should I book for other events?
| Event | Book this far ahead | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Wedding on a fall or June Saturday | 6 to 12 months | Peak dates book first |
| Wedding on another date | 3 to 6 months | More open dates |
| Quinceañera or Sweet 16 | 2 to 4 months | Saturdays are the most requested |
| Graduation party | 2 to 3 months | Many North Texas ceremonies fall in the same late-May week |
| Company holiday party | 2 to 3 months | December Fridays and Saturdays fill early |
| Birthday or casual party | 2 to 6 weeks | Usually flexible |
These are guidelines, not rules. A Tuesday in March is a lot easier to get than the second Saturday in December.
Can I book a photo booth last minute?
Often, yes. Reach out even if your event is next week. Your date is confirmed once you sign the agreement and pay a 25% deposit, and on short notice you can do both the same day. If the event is less than 7 days away, the full amount is due when you sign. One thing that does not work on short notice is a custom-made backdrop. We will bring a standard backdrop in your color instead.
What do I need to hold my date?
- Your event date, start time, and venue.
- A rough guest count.
- A signed agreement and a 25% deposit. The balance is due 7 days before the event.
Common questions
Is 3 months too late to book a wedding photo booth?
Not usually. Three months is fine for most dates. If your date is a peak fall or June Saturday, check availability right away.
Is the deposit refundable?
No. All sales are final. If you ask in writing at least 30 days ahead, we will move your booking to a new date one time, within 12 months, if that date is open.
Can I hold a date without paying?
Our concierge can place a short tentative hold while you decide. The date is locked in once you sign the agreement and pay the deposit.
