How Much Space Does a Photo Booth Need?
By Boothly Events · · 2 min read
Quick answer
Plan on about a 10 by 10 foot area for an open-air photo booth or a 360 video booth, plus a regular wall outlet within 25 feet. The 360 booth also needs level ground. Indoors or a covered outdoor spot both work.
What does the booth need?
| Open-air photo booth | 360 video booth | |
|---|---|---|
| Floor space | About 10 x 10 ft | About 10 x 10 ft |
| Power | Regular outlet within 25 ft | Regular outlet |

Short on room? Tell us. An open-air booth can squeeze into smaller spaces, and we will help you find the best spot.
Where should the booth go at my venue?
- Near the action. Close to the bar, dessert table, or dance floor gets the most use. A back hallway gets the least.
- Away from the entry door. A line at the door slows everyone down.
- Not in direct sun. Bright light behind guests washes out photos.
- Near a wall. A wall behind the backdrop keeps it steady and gives cables a clean path.
Can a photo booth go outside in Texas?
Yes, with a plan for weather. We need a covered spot, like a patio, pavilion, or tent, to keep gear safe from rain and sun. Wind is the other big one: a backdrop needs some shelter on a gusty North Texas day. If the only outlet is far away, tell us before the event so we bring the right gear.
Does the 360 booth need extra room?
The platform is 39 inches wide and holds 4 to 5 guests per spin. The camera arm swings around it, so the area has to stay clear while it moves. Our host runs every spin and keeps people at a safe distance. Learn more on the 360 booth page.
Common questions
Do I need to provide a table?
Not usually. We bring the booth, the backdrop, and the props. If the venue has a small table nearby, it is handy for props.
Can you set up in an office?
Yes. A conference room, break room, or lobby corner with a nearby outlet works well.
Does setup time count against my booth hours?
No. We arrive 60 to 90 minutes early to set up, and setup and pack-down are free.
